Popular businesses in North Yorkshire town set to close due to energy crisis
Four businesses in the small town of Richmond have announced they will be permanently closing their doors, shocking the local community. York House antiques shop, Ravensworth Nurseries, The Fleece Hotel and Cross Views Tea rooms are all victims of the on-going energy crisis.
Conservative leader of North Yorkshire Council, Carl Les told the media, “The cost of living crisis is not allowing demand to increase at the same time as rising costs.
“The energy costs appear to be the focus of the problem” he added.
This comes as heart-breaking news for many in the local area, however a company called HeatingSave could help businesses reduce energy costs by 25% to 50%, especially those in the hospitality industry, such as hotels.
HeatingSave have invented a computerised AI heating management system, approved by the Government on its Energy Technology list. It helps to cut gas consumption by better managing the heating plant and equipment that venues already have.
