Dorset school goes on a ‘Mission for Energy Efficiency’

A Dorset school has decided to implement a number of energy efficiency measures designed to help it cut its energy bills and and carbon footprint, a recent news report could reveal.

Milton Abbey School has between 200 and 300 and expects to save 3.3 million kilowatt hours (kWh) of energy and cut its carbon footprint by 1,000 tonnes over the next few years after installing a biomass boiler, water harvesting technology and air source heat pumps.

Speaking about the Mission for Energy Efficiency, developed with the help of consultants, Bursar Julian Litchfield said: “The benefits have been varied, from cost savings and efficiency gains to practical links to our students’ education.”
