Scottish homes to get interest-free loans for installing energy-efficiency measures

A new scheme set up by the Scottish government will enable home owners to apply for interest free loans to install various energy efficiency measures, a new media report has revealed.

The scheme, worth around 3 million pounds, will enable home owners to gain access to loans worth up to £10,000, that will subsequently be used for installing energy-saving technologies and renewable systems, such as solar panels, micro wind turbines, biomass boilers and heat pumps.

Furthermore, homes that install the renewable energy technologies will be eligible for payments for feeding electricity into the National Grid and can also benefit from the Renewable Hear Premium Payment (RHPP) vouchers.

The new scheme set up by the Scottish government is actually significantly better than Green Deal, which includes interest rates of around 7%. It is a part of the central authorities ongoing struggle to reduce fuel poverty across the country and improve the overall standards of living.

Energy Minister Fergus Ewing said: “With the UK Government delaying its domestic Renewable Heat Incentive scheme until at least spring 2014, our funding boost will make sure households, especially those in fuel poverty, are able to increase their income through renewable technologies.

“This investment will also help to boost our micro-generation market, which will also help to create jobs in this fast growing industry and meet our commitment to deliver renewable energy and energy-efficient homes in those communities worst affected by fuel poverty.”

If you want to make your property more energy-efficient, then the HeatingSave system could help, given the fact that it allows home owners to cut energy bills by up to an impressive 30%+.

The system is built around the idea of optimizing the energy consumption levels within any area with the help of an advanced heat-loss algorithm that creates a specific profile for any building and based on that, switches heating on later if its warm and off earlier if its cold.

Additionally, the automatic occupancy detection allows the temperature to reduce to a background when areas are not used and quickly brought up to temperature when they are being used.
